Women looking to flee the cube learn the most from anti 9-to-5ers like you who’ve already made their great escape. If you want to inspire legions of hopeful cubicle expats—and promote your business, industry, or cause in the process—just answer a few questions below. I'll be profiling an anti 9-to-5er every week or so on my website, anti9to5guide.com.
Who should fill out this survey? Part timers, flex timers, freelancers, telecommuters, temps, business owners, nonprofit founders, overseas contractors, outdoor workers, women in the trades, artists, activists, dreamers, side giggers, and anyone else who’s fled the cube. A few requirements:
You must be female. (See book title.) You must have an online presence for me to profile you. People want to see what you do for a living—specifically what products and services you make, sell, or provide to your community—so be sure you have a public website. TIP: Sites like Blogger and WordPress make it easy to create a free blog or website, and Flickr makes it a cinch to create a free photoset of your wares or on-the-job action shots.Resist the temptation to write canned press-release-ish or PSA-esque responses that only serve to promote your business or mission. I won’t be able to print such profiles. People want to hear how you made the leap to anti 9-to-5 life and what tips you have to offer them. See previous anti 9-to-5 profiles here.
